Azkaban provides a small library of resources for the entertainment and education of the prison guards, the Dementors. We have meagre funding from the Ministry of Magic to provide resources for both the entertainment and basic education of the prison guards. This funding was begun in 1717, when the use of an Unforgivable curse began to carry a life sentence and it became necessary for the Dementors to have a better understanding of the wizarding world.
The little library that is hidden in the depths of Azkaban is underused by the Dementors. It has been determined that many Dementors prefer to feed off of the prisoners happy memories, and this blog is being used to showcase some of the more miserable texts held within this library. After the Wizarding War that ended in 1998, we will begin with some depressing muggle texts in an attempt to broaden the knowledge base of all prison guards, both traditional Dementors and the newer wizarding guards.
Prisoners are not entitled to material from the this library, and membership will be automatically rescinded if prisoners are found with any resources taken from the library.
